Why I Moved from Tech to Real Estate

Why I Chose Real Estate
I made my first real estate investment when I was only 25 years old, thanks to my early success at the world's largest software company. After 20 years in consumer technology marketing and intellectual property—where I sharpened my skills in negotiation, strategic planning, and sales—I found myself yearning for a career more aligned with my personal values and passions. Real estate felt like a natural choice, allowing me to merge my professional expertise with my heartfelt desire to help people find the places they’ll call home.

In August 2024, I took a leap, moving my family from Seattle’s bustling Eastside to the serene, waterfront charm of Gig Harbor, WA. This transition offered the slower pace and close-knit community I craved, creating the perfect setting for my daughters during these precious years before they head off to college and beyond!

Why Gig Harbor—and the Eastside—Hold My Heart
For me, real estate isn’t just about buying or selling homes; it’s about creating a sense of belonging. Moving from the Eastside to Gig Harbor, just 45 minutes south, was a big adjustment for my little family, but it immediately felt right. A quick weekend VRBO stay on Wollochet Bay sealed the deal, and 69 days later my Renton home was listed and pending, and the moving truck awaited us! Gig Harbor’s small-town charm, breathtaking views, and welcoming community captivated me.

That said, the Eastside remains an indelible part of who I am. After spending two decades living, working, and raising my family there, it will always feel like home. I treasure Kirkland’s vibrant waterfront, Bellevue’s dynamic city energy, Redmond’s tech-forward vibe, and Issaquah’s historic charm. Whether it’s a day spent at Kirkland Urban getting my hair done by the amazing Ms. Megan at Opal & Rust, antique hunting in Issaquah, or enjoying the nightlife in downtown Bellevue, the Eastside lifestyle is woven into my life, as well as my girls.

Having called neighborhoods like downtown Kirkland, Juanita, Redmond, Newcastle, and Renton’s Highlands home, I bring a wealth of personal insight to help my clients. I even had the unique experience of calling a few Seahawk football players my neighbors during my time in Newcastle and Renton Highlands. These diverse experiences across the region give me a deep appreciation for the Eastside’s unique communities and how they fit into different lifestyles.

My Approach: A Heartfelt and Strategic Partnership
My tagline, “Home is Where Life Happens,” embodies my philosophy. Homes are so much more than structures—they’re where we create memories, connect with loved ones, and build the chapters of our lives. I see my role as a trusted guide and advocate, helping you find the place that matches your vision or ensuring your property shines when it’s time to sell.

With a background in technology, I have the tools to expertly navigate the complexities of today’s real estate market. From high-level negotiations to creative marketing strategies, I bring innovation and expertise to every transaction. But it’s not just about the numbers or the logistics. For me, real estate is deeply personal, and I approach each client’s needs with the same care and thoughtfulness I would within my own family.

Your Advocate Every Step of the Way
Buying or selling a home is one of life’s biggest milestones, and I know firsthand how emotional and complex the process can be. Having gone through it myself multiple times, I’ve developed a keen eye for detail and a knack for making what could feel overwhelming, instead feel seamless. My goal is to let you focus on the excitement of what’s next while I handle the intricate details behind the scenes. Whether you're buying your dream home or selling a cherished property, I’m here to ensure the journey is as smooth and rewarding as possible.

Building Relationships: The Heart of What I Do
Referrals and relationships are at the core of my business, they always have been, ask some of my merchants and buyers across the country that I have held relationships with that span decades. Every connection means the world to me, and I consider it an honor to be entrusted with such an important chapter in someone’s life. Whether you’re actively looking to buy or sell or just want to meet for coffee and talk about your goals, I’d love to connect. Your trust and friendship are invaluable to me—and I’m here whenever you need guidance, insight, or simply a listening ear.
